One of the oldest toys in the world are toy trains. More people than you think collect trains and some people have the oldest sets that are actually worth a lot of money. The best parts of those collectible trains is setting up the tracks and then setting up the remote control and driving your train around with tracks. These train sets come with the full line of trains from the head car to the caboose. Then the tracks have stations and crossing signs as well as bridges and tunnels.
Some of the other sets are very basic and only have the train which only includes a few cars, a couple of trees you can set up and a maybe a platform. These sets are very affordable; you can still have hours of fun routing the train around the tracks and setting the tracks anyway you want to. The complete sets are more expensive and make a great addition to the Christmas tree at Christmas time. A very traditional setting is a train set up around the tree, with the kids controlling the train around the tracks.
You can find these trains in hobby stores and in some toy stores. The classic trains you may be able to find online. There are hundreds and hundreds of websites where you can find trains and other accessories. You can also set up a basic set and add to them as you are able to.
